new single: Jimmy Eat World - My Best Theory

I was never the biggest fan of Chase This Light, but it seems as though Jimmy Eat World have rekindled their heartfelt, angst ridden Bleed American-y roots

this makes me very very very happy. to me, Jimmy Eat World are horribly underrated and the only redeeming thing about that fact is their consistency in being prolific, humble and genuine

song of the day: Jimmy Eat World - A Praise Chorus

I will never ever tire of Jimmy Eat World...especially Bleed American and Clarity. so simple, but so effortlessly empowering. I fucking love these guys.

Jimmy Eat World - "A Sunday"

this song is from Clarity, one of my all time favourite albums.

Jimmy Eat World have been on a ten year anniversary tour for the album, playing it in its entirety. I'm really mad that tickets sold out before I could snag one. the Fillmore concert took place last month, if my memory serves me correctly

anyhow, here is an mp3, (courtesy of SPIN.com) of a live version of the aforementioned song:

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I fucking love this holiday. I'm glad to be home, surrounded by my slightly eccentric family whom I love more every day. I am grateful for all of my blessings (especially in this crap economy we have now), perhaps most for music. Music is the greatest blessing of all. Enjoy the following mp3s and have a wonderful holiday!

John Lennon - Cold Turkey (acoustic) [mp3]

Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American [mp3]

Iron & Wine - Flightless Bird, American Mouth [mp3]

Jason Mraz - Too Much Food [mp3]

I'll post a review of the Ben Sollee show tomorrow

new Jimmy Eat World tour to celebrate 10th anniversary of "Clarity"

they plan to play the entire album in each of the following venues

New York, NY Terminal 5 (February 23)
Washington DC 930 Club (24)
Philadelphia PA Trocadero Theater (25)
Boston MA House of Blues (26)
Chicago IL Metro (28)
Denver CO Ogden Theatre (March 2)
San Francisco CA The Fillmore (4)
Los Angeles CA Club Nokia (5)
San Diego CA House of Blues (6)
Tempe AZ Marquee Theatre (7)

I will be at the Fillmore show. "Clarity", which was released in 1999, (was that really a decade ago? I had just started middle school...) is such a good album, I got it from the clearance rack at my local record shop for 2 bucks.

Jimmy Eat World - Lucky Denver Mint [mp3]

I know this is kind of weird and random, but I always wished that Jimmy Eat World would cover "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service. I feel like they'd do it justice (there are a few covers of SGH out there that I don't particularly enjoy)
