The Strokes Post #253

guess what I picked up after work today? it made me so giddy, I was dancing around through the store as I left

[just for the record, I bought these THE MINUTE THEY WENT ON SALE. I only PICKED them up today.]

if I can, I will record the concert. but if I know my big venues, I know they're pretty anal about video. people in the back rows manage to snag videos, but I am always in the front. always.

ahhh I is so excited.

At least you knew when they were going on sale, the date for the LA shows changed last minute and you had to check ticketmaster often to see when they went on sale. Anyway I got my tickets for the 13 th and that it's all I care about.

You westies are so luckkyyyyyyyyy! I hope he hits up the East Coast soon... But I will sacrifice E.C. tours for getting into the studio for some quality Strokes time.

That's so exciting! I've always wanted to hear Julian sing a Christmas classic. Holiday music is the best, and combined with his voice...

Those are probably the second most beautiful tickets that could ever be held in possession!

Enjoy it! Video would be nice, but I agree, it will be quite a task to manage.

So I was sitting at the computer listening to Glass and my brother (in the same room) was watching Rob & Big on MTV2. All of a sudden I hear the synths and turn to see Julian on the screen at a keyboard. It was like a 30 second commercial for the album.

I don't know if these little things excite you guys as much as they excite me, but I'm deprived of anyone to share this stuff with 'cept you all.

Hell yeah they excite us Mary Shea, or at least they do me. I hope I get to catch that commercial here in my town because when I went to purchase the album only three copies were in stock. Thats right I wrote three, and not because people were buying them but they only wanted to stock up with three! I wish more people in this town were cultured.

Really? I only found one and it was (hidden?) behind other cds. I wonder if it's as you said and they didn't stock up, or if they sold a bunch (in which case there is someone in my area who should be my best friend right now haha). I don't know anyone around here who has heard of Julian. The suburbs aren't quite known to breed cultured kids my age.

I will keep you all updated about the Christmas single. hell, I'll probably buy a bunch and give em away to you lovelies.

K, I read somewhere that he's doing a NY residency.

Mary Shea, I know exactly what you mean. it's like the first time I went to the Popscene (an indie nightclub in SF) and before the set, the dj played Hard to Explain and I WENT INSANE. I danced my ass off. it's so nice to hear Jules outside of my own room and/or headphones, y'know? that's why I am so exciteddddddddddd about the concert, I'll get to meet Strokes fans. ones who live near me. yeah.

Awww Kiko and Mary Shea, that sucks that there were so few Jules albums! Where I went to pick it up, there was like a whole big rack and it was at the very front of the store! Much love for Mr. Casablancas here I guess...
