The Strokes Post #381 (LOLLA LOLLA LOLLA!!!)

I totally scared my roommate when I started screaming when I read...

THE STROKES ARE CONFIRMED FOR LOLLAPALOOZA THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Julian says:

“It feels great, because I remember people writing things like ‘We’ll see if they’re still around in 10 years’ when we first came out.” (read more HERE)

to celebrate this momentous occasion, I'm giving away a vinyl copy of Is This It. leave me a comment telling me what your best festival experience thus far has been and how it inevitably will be trumped by August's epicness.

I hate birthdays but this year will change everything. I'm turning 21 the day after the festival ends.

Well I've never been to a festival (though I'm going to reggae fest in Austin on - of all days - 4/20), but I now know that I'm older than you!!! Have a great 21st, and have a beer on me (or substance of your choosing, of course) :)

I've only been to one festival so far but it was amazing. Such nice sunny weather to listen to some great tunes. I'm so proud of the boys for getting their act together and performing stateside!

My first and only festival appearance will be blown away by Jules and co's Lolla date. This is the best concert I will never attend!!!!!!! Can't WAITTTTTTT!!!

Wow! I may have to go this year. My best festival was summerfest, Milwaukee around 2004ish. Kings of Leon were recording Because of the Times and stopped in WI to give us a preview. They opened with "Charmer" and no one knew what they were playing! (which was a treat because now when they play it everyone screams when he screams). Anyways I caught a pick of Caleb's and one of Nathan's drumsticks. Pretty epic show.

I have never been to a festival but my best live music experience would have to be a small show at my university by Hellogoodbye, The Melismatics and a local band (cant remember what their name is). My friends and I were front row center it was pretty amazing. To top it off while we were leaving the venue we met the guys from Hellogoodbye. They were really nice signed stuff for us took pictures etc.

Now the Strokes at Lolla would be amazing!!! Too bad I am a poor art student and will have to work all summer nonstop.

I've never been to a festival but I hope that I can go one day soon (it's doubtful I can make it to Lolla). So to sooth my pain a nice vinyl ITI would be fabulous :) hahah.

My best festival experience was last year at Reading festival 2009.
It was Sunday night and I had been waiting all weekend for Radiohead to come on stage. It was the most amazing two hour set of my life, everyone just stood there, singing their hearts out to the songs! I couldn't keep my eyes off them, smiled throughout the whole set, every single song they played was just spot on, so perfect. Best two hours of my fucking life.

My best festival experience will be this years Coachella. The highlight will be The Strokes set (I'm still holding out hope!)

My best was seeing The Strokes, Beastie Boys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bad Religion, among others at a radio festival in the bay area. cant remember when and cant remember the radio station. cant remember much these days.

My best festival experience was Coachella last year. The Cure, My Bloody Valentine, Okkervil River, No Age, all in one day... it was utterly unbelievable, especially out in the desert, with a bunch of likeminded people.

my best festival experience was probably Lollapalooza 2007. specifically the second day of the festival when it was poring rain and the crowd for muse was so huge but my friends and i managed to get to the front by creating a train with a ton of people with everyone holding ponchos above their heads. we looked like a huge snake or something because there were seriously like 17 people with us all walking in a line to the front and it was awesome because everyone just let us go. no one was being an asshole, they were just helping us get as far as we could.
BUUUTTT i'm going to Lolla again this year and i cannot wait to camp out in 90 degree weather alllll day long to be front row to see them. gonna have a huge heatSTROKES.
i would dieeee to have a vinyl copy of Is This It considering it is my favourite album of all time and i can't afford to buy vinyl when i have to pa y $200 bucks to go to Lolla this year...haha.
