Chuck Klosterman once wrote "The reason Johnny Carson was important was not because he was funny or clever or cool ... but that he was the last universally shared icon of modern popular culture"

what he meant by that is we live in such an intricate vast society and pop culture has so many damn subgenres that there are JUST no more cultural phenomenons. I think about that a lot, especially when I'm consuming music. There's just so much, yknow?

"Just" by Radiohead is one of my all time favourite songs. I realized earlier that I hadn't seen the video before. So I watched it. But then it hit me like a ton of bricks that I had seen it, probably ten years ago, way before I started listening to Radiohead.
