The Strokes Post #17

the video for "You Only Live Once". they're drowning in sewage.

specifically, my favourite part of the video is Fab at 2:13 right after Jules sings "I guess I've tried and I refuse": my favourite drummer assertively pounds his kit, refusing to let the fact that it is submerged stop him from playing.

oh, and the song itself is the perfect start to an innovative and powerful record. just hear those guitars go.

You know, I could never make it past their second album.

Is This It is one of the best albums of the last decade, the rest just never struck a chord with me.

2001 was a glorious year for American rock with near flawless albums by BRMC, The Strokes, Vue, The White Stripes, The Dirtbombs and a bunch of others. A classic rock year that deserves to be mentioned next to 1955, 1968, 1977 and 1991.

But none of them have ever been that good again, in my humble little opinion.

nothing will ever surpass Is This It in my opinion. it's my favourite record ever.

in my humble opinion, the rest of their stuff is gold too, but I appreciate your honesty.

did you listen to the song posted above? it's from their third album.
