The Strokes Post #248

yeah, the sound mixing was sounding a bit funky (especially at the beginning), but seriously, I was so glad when I heard the imperfections.

it means that Julian, who's ears are infinitely more musically inclined than mine, will DEFINITELY pick up on this during his shows and compare it nostalgically to the glory days of The Strokes, and he will never ever allow the band to break up.

but anyhow, 3:08 and on, is just glorious. I couldn't move last night when I was watching this, I was just gaping in awe of his excellence. he sounds so good.

does he have any idea how sexy that wide legged stance thing he does is?

OF COURSE HE KNOWS! as I tell my friends who take salsa classes, there is no such thing as an accidental seduction. It doesnt matter if someone is dancing, sensual wide stances and pelvic swivels are on purpose, everytime.

Ahh, he's so awesome!

I don't know if you saw Albert on Gossip Girl, but here's the video: http://bit.ly/3phimZ

It was amazing! It is great to see him back in action.
Hey Hanan have you seen this new Spin Mag interview that he did? He does not want to get into talking about the Strokes what could that possibly mean?

Yeah, poor Albert. I hope rehab is treating him well.

Anyways, I love this performance. My favourite part is where he says "I got music, comin' out of my hands and feet and kisses" and he blows that kiss. I think I killed my dvr last nite rewinding that part over and over. And I love the facial expressions of the drummer. He looks very into it! hahaha :)

THAT IS MY FAVOURITE PART TOO, EDITH. Also that little smile and step with 'I just nod' was great. And the dice roll?!

Allie the racist dragon sent that video to me today of Albert on the Gossip Girls (the worst show ever) and I wanted to cry. I now hope the rehab rumours were true because he seriously needed to get himself back on track.

1) Despite the sound, that was pretty awesome. And yes Edith haha, I love how into it the drummer is!

2) Just watched the video of Albert on GG and it made me sad. And seriously, WHERE is his hair?

3) Klein, I love that you made reference to Albie the racist dragon, Flight of the Conchords is an amaaazing show! Ain't no party like my nana's tea party - heyyyyy, hoooooo

4) Dilemma - Jules in London is the week I have work experience at my local newspaper. Do you think it's acceptable to ask if I could get the afternoon off, then the following morning off? I'm thinking it might not be allowed which is so, so gutting.

5) List over. Sorry to have written such a needlessly long comment.

Here's my theory: Jules' new thing is fully embracing his geekiness. What do you think?
Old Jules -- drunken, screamy...completely awesome and sexy as hell.
New Jules -- dance moves, really into synthesizers...and apparently Creed...still awesome and sexy.
How does he do it?
Also, Creed is like a Christian band, right? I don't really know.

Albie the Racist dragon makes me cry tears whenever I watch it, I love that video so so so much.
you guys are amazing.

Tara, take the time off! I'm taking the day off even though I have a few days the next week for Thanksgiving because HELLO I DESERVE IT. I'll be fine for work the next morning because I function very little on no sleep.

dvrs are creepy and yes I agree with Rachel, I hope the rehab rumours are true because dammit he needed it.

The thing is I'm literally only working there Monday to Friday for that single week, so I feel like such a slacker missing like a day of my time there. And the journey will involve a boat and over 2 hours of train/tube journeys and therefore lots of money will need to be spent. And I'd probably have to sort out a place to stay in London, and convince some friends that they want to come along.

...But despite all that hassle, I'd be gutted if I didn't go because it's Jules.
