Kanye disses Taylor Swift

ok, I know the internet is FLOWING with this news,
and I know most of you don't watch those stupid awards anyways (I don't)
and I know I hate both of these "artists",
but this is just too too funny. it's almost as good as that Hitler video.

seriously, this gives me a lot more respect for Kanye, who is indeed a self involved douchebag. at least he's directing his asshole-ness to talentless hacks like Swift, instead of at Radiohead.

i wouldn't call a 19 year old girl who can write and perform her own songs, and then sell more copies of her songs than any other artist this year, a talentless hack. she clearly has talent and an appeal, whether she appeals to you or not...

p.s. love the blog!

I agree with Hanan

I disagree. I enjoy some Taylor Swift songs, even though her music is basically for 13 year olds.

But I don't think she writes the music, only the lyrics and possibly the acoustic guitar parts.

I agree with what Kanye said (the Singles Ladies video is vastly superior), but Hanan hit it on the head. MTV awards, and basically awards of any kind, don't matter.

mtv is irrelevant.

I don't like Taylor Swift, but regardless, I still think Kanye was out of line. It's just rude, and he needs to get off his high horse. Also, it was terrible of him to put Beyonce in that position.

Anyway, I don't really care to argue the legitimacy of Taylor Swift's music. Whether it's respectable or not..well. Yeah. I don't want to be redundant haha.

Oh also (and sorry, I ramble) I find that these awards are really more about the songs than they are the video. And if we're commending the video, shouldn't the director be accepting the award? I dunno, just curious.

I have just one thing to say to anon:

there is always a market for crap, especially in this country. sales have nothing to do with quality.
McDonald's sells more food than any other restaurant in the world, but to nutritionists and food appreciators/critics/experts alike, it is a load of garbage not to be dealt with. simply a splotch on our gastronomical history.

as is Taylor Swift.

That argument (Hanan's "market for crap") can be made for a LOT of popular artists unfortunately

Which is why the Strokes want to fix that
