new song from JULIAN CASABLANCAS (GREAT QUALITY!)

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

Julian Casablancas - 11th Dimension [mp3]
[UPDATE: you hungry hippos ate ALL of my bandwidth, so I uploaded it again, only this time, it's the "full" 4:02 version. enjoy]

I want to make love to this song, it is SO FUCKING GOOD. why can't all experimental music be this HAPPY? seriously, this is simultaneously tropical like Little Joy, catchy like J.U.S.T.I.C.E and dark/race-y like Arctic Monkeys. there's some great hip-hop sensibility, and crescendos like nobody's business. AND IT'S FUCKING JULES. his voice makes me melt, always. there's SO MUCH GOOD STUFF GOING ON, get listening!

Katzen, you are an incredible person and I want your home address so I can send you some homemade fudge.

SO FUCKING GOOD, I KNOW!!!!! I've been going nuts here waiting for people to finally get my spazzy emails. I'm glad you've heard it - I L O V E IT. Catchy, happy - really happy, which is cool - and just what he's been promising.

10/20/2009 will be a very, very good day.

"I could have never predicted this sound."

My thoughts exactly - I think it was just so surprising. In the best of ways. Did not expect this at ALL.

I too would like to send Katzen fudge.

This song doesn't disappoint (unlike my blog over the last 24 hours). The best parts are at 1:27, 2:20 and the final chorus.

It's not a radio hit and doesn't sound like a Strokes song, in my opinion, which is awesome. This song would be (and will be) awesome to play at parties because it's uplifting.

I can't wait to listen over and over and over the rest of the night.

Thank you Hanan and Katzen, you're the best. Keep the tracks coming.

omg the happytastic factor is CRAAAZAAAAYY!!! I immediatly know how I will car dance to this. It involves alot of bouncing, smiling, and the occasional point to a pedestrian. Also its perfect for walking down the street with a spring in your step. excuse while I OD on smiles.

another reason this is the happiest day ever though non music related...guess who got accepted to an internship in new zealand for next summer? MEEEE!! Have a glorious weekend everybody!

And the lyrics are so MEANINGFUL! I keep thinking of that thing in the NME article of Julian reading Confucius quotes and being all philosophical, and transferring it into the thoughts of Phrazes ...

Allie that's super exciting! Where in NZ is your internship for?! (I live there!)

WOW. I love it!

There's a rip from the song released on his MySpace page, but the volume is kind of iffy and it sounds basically the same as the latest HQ version.

Thanks to Louise from HTE!

Klein-
not sure where i'm going yet because there are multiple placements options, but as of now the most likely option is Hamilton, at a conservation genetics research project. Haha you should def give me a tour if you live around there.

Allie, congrats! I'm super jealous.
New Zealand is home to the greatest/sexiest accent of the English language ever. I had a class with a kiwi who was doing a semester abroad..I totally had a massive crush on her. it was a seminar, too, so I had to hear her speak all of the time...I dunno how I managed to do well in the class

I'm so glad everyone liked it =)

oh, and Eric, I totally love 2:20 too, it reminds me of this ONE part that I like of really shitty song my brothers listen to...I think it's Chris Brown.

yay Jules!
