Sunday Morning Covers

Beck is such a badass.

in a perfect world, all of my favourite bands would get the recognition they deserve. but this isn't a perfect world, so I should be happy that The Morning Benders are gaining a following worthy of their glory. here are a couple of mp3s of when they and The Submarines covered each other (I actually prefer the Submarines track, mostly because The Morning Benders' songwriting is superior)

The Submarines - Waiting for a War [mp3]

The Morning Benders - 1940 (The Submarines cover) [mp3]

Girls - End of the World (Skeeter Davis cover) [mp3]
new single ["Morning Light"] = new video; new b-side = new cover.

The Hold Steady - Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window (Bob Dylan cover) [mp3]

Ryan Adams - Times Like These (Foo Fighters cover) [mp3]

The Honorary Title - No One (Alicia Keys cover) [mp3]
this starts gets really good at around 3:20

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Cracking Up (Nick Lowe cover) [mp3]

The White Stripes - Conquest (Corky Robbins cover) [mp3]

Broken Social Scene - Kennel District (Pavement Cover) [mp3, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!]

My favorite Beck's Record Club thing would have to be "Suzanne" the Leonard Cohen cover. I had no idea that Conquest was a cover, thanks!

Very cool blog, thanks! Keep up the great work and have fun checking out one of my favorite artists: Catya MarĂ©...you won´t regret it!
She recently won both the Billboard World Song Contest and Hollywood Music in Media Award and released her third album last week....
