hm, I wonder which album they'll play from. not. what bugs me about Only by the Night isn't the album itself but the fact that nobody even knows about their old work. tis a shame they never play their old stuff anymore. Youth and Young Manhood is sheer perfection. sigh.

I expect to hear 'Notion' tonight, but hope to hear 'Cold Desert' or 'Manhattan'.
I agree with what you say about Only By The Night. Their first three records are awesome, but Because of the Times has 6 of my 10 favorite songs in the KOL discography.
(For the record, they are: Charmer, Arizona, Knocked Up, McFearless and Fans).
But yeah, "Notion" is going to be the song we hear tonight, which is too bad.
That was only five. The other song is Ragoo.
I hate the 3rd and 4th albums more with every passing day. When all the beards went, so did my interest :P
Because of the Times is good. I love Ragoo. I like the feel of the album more than anything, which is set up with the lyrics from Knocked Up.
in my opinion, the chronological order of the albums shows the best to the least best. my favourite songs come from the first two albums.
Taper Jean Girl and Red Morning Light are probably my favourites. and the guitars The Bucket makes me happy the same way that "Someday" by The Strokes does.
ah, the beards. I miss the beards.
I feel like the record comapny told them, "Hey ditch this Black Crowes persona, shave your beards, ditch the denim for leather and skinny jeans and you'll sell records. Low and behold it has which is great, but they should have blown up years ago. I remember burning a copy of the cd for my brother and thinking I had just stumbled across mone of the last cd's that was truly enjoyable the whole way through.
For me it's all about Four Kicks off Aha Shake Heartbreak, that line "You with your switchblade posse, I get my guns from the south" kills me every time...probably because I'm a southern boy myself
oh snap I LOOOVE that song. everything about it, especially the chorus with that lyric. I love the cadence of the music as Caleb sings that part (the chorus). he never sings like that anymore, it makes me sad. the more I think about it, the more I miss old Kings of Leon. they were so unrefined and perfect.
Aha Shake Heartbreak is my favourite album to listen to when I ride my bike long distances. it makes me go really fast =)
The beards were actually a major part of their appeal for me, believe it or not. Well, superficially anyway.
The videos for "Last Nite" and "Molly's Chambers" are the only ones that have made me really want to be the people in the band 'cause they're so damn cool!
Couldnt agree more... The older stuff is so much better than there shitty new one. Use Somebody and Sex on fire are awful pop songs!
Youth and young manhood is great.. but "because of the times"... now THAT is sheer perfection.
