The Strokes Post #193

when I graduated college, I moved back home, and the very first thing that I did was plaster my walls with posters and pictures of my favourite musicians. I wanted my room to be my sanctuary, and here is my Strokes wall:

you may notice that a handful of artists have "infiltrated" the wall, at the bottom right. I can't help it if I like to sleep with my head near Andrew Bird. he's a handsome chap!

here's the rest of my room:

to answer your question, Allie, I live with my folks, and they think I'm nuts. they keep trying to exorcise me.

someone followed up on your plea and sent you the NME cover with julian... I have to say he looks pretty creepy in it though. I think it's the bangs. was the article good?

the damn magazine photoshopped him to make him look weird. he looks like digitized or something

yeah, the article (and inside photo) was great! you can check it out here:

Holy shit, that's effed up! That pic from the inside is almost the exact same shot as the cover photo but he looks completely different! Why would they photoshop his face like that??!

haha im glad im not the only one who was made uneasy by that weird ass cover pic, and the inside picture didnt look weird so wtf? Don't worry hanan I live with my parents and I think my dad actually thinks I am made of demons or something. at least you are allowed to express yourself! if it doesnt have to do with toby keith, trucks, or the Almighty (three things I have no interest in) its a fight to put up poster.

oh hon, this whole "express myself" thing is so very recent. I never could even buy cds when I was living at home before college, but my parents essentially begged me to move home after school, so I did.

I'm saving up money so I can move out though, they're quite unbearable. they've essentially banned me from going to any more concerts. it makes me laugh, they have no idea how many I went to when I was at school. I should be able to move out by January though. I'm waiting because I need to have enough money never to have to come back to them ever again.

my mum consistently "threatens" me that she'll tear all of my posters down and throw out my records. when I was in high school, she tore down my Fight Club poster, the only thing I had up other than regular photos + nature stuff/architecture photos.

oh, and ktr2, what happened was that NME realized too late that they didn't have enough glossy paper for the cover of the millions of copies of the mag which would inevitably sell, so they tried to make it look like it wasn't Jules, or that he got ugly or something, even though all the fans have seen that gorgeous interview on youtube...August 7th? it was a couple of days before my birthday.

but anyway, the guy who handles the paper purchasing at NME was obviously fired, and this disaster shall never happen again.
