MUST WATCH VIDEO: Julian Casablancas - 11th Dimension

"sin is honoring desire above what you know is right"

Julian Casablancas' debut video just combined all of my favourite things:
fabulous music, 80's glam leather fashions, a nod to the Thriller video, violence, Victorian corruption/coats/handwriting, AND JULIAN HIMSELF WITH A GUITAR AND DRUMMING. and did you guys see, he has a tattoo on his upper left arm? I didn't know he had one there, I wonder what it is.

best of all, he writes out different aphorisms like Voldemort does, you know, in the air but they look like fire? and the whole video follows the theme of one of my favourite lyrics in the song: "so when's it coming, this next great movement that I can join?"

I am in awe. in shock. I am so happy.

I dont quite know what to make of that video haha. Its, erm, interesting?!

I saw the teaser trailer for it the other day and I'm getting really fed up of the record company advertising and hyping the living shit out of everything Julian releases.

I think that he just wants the music to feel more like an experience than anything.

Connor, I disagree.
he is entitled to make a music video for his only single. the video was directed by Warren Fu, who did all of those cool preview things over the summer. I think he's good friends with Julian, too. they're artists, so it's their job (and life, really) to keep us mortals entertained.
and the video is bitchin!

I guess you're right. I wern't really talking directly about the video to 11th dimension. I just dont like all the trailers and stuff they've released onto the internet.

oh ok fair enough, you've got a point there even though those trailers really get my juices flowing.

I had a huge fight with my mother just to find a place to watch this video - she's not supportive. Lucky girl, Allie.

Don't know what to think yet.

@Hanan - "those trailers really get my juices flowing." So too does Julian's wide-legged stance at the mic, if I remember correctly?

@ Connor - "I saw the teaser trailer for it the other day and I'm getting really fed up of the record company advertising and hyping the living shit out of everything Julian releases." You do realize that Cult Records is the record company Julian started, don't you?

Fun, arty, totally unique and unexpected. Yet another side of him & what he can do.
